We are fast coming to the end of 2022, and the best way to say hello to 2023 is by attending a New Year's Eve event or throwing a party. Here are some New Year’s Eve events and party ideas to help you bring in the new year!
Nathan Phillips Square
This party has been a long-standing tradition in Toronto, in which the city itself puts on a celebration featuring family-friendly entertainment. You can go ice skating, listen to live music, fill your belly at the different food trucks and finish it off with spectacular fireworks show. The best part is that it’s completely free! It’s also alcohol-free.
New Year’s Eve Comedy Extravaganza
Hosted by Steve Patterson and curated by Yuk Yuk’s founder Mark Breslin, this annual event allows you to say goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023 while laughing. Some comedians that will be there include Don Kelly, Zabrina Douglas, Hunter Collins and Martha Chaves. It all happens at the newly renovated Massey Hall.
Wine tasting party
Have a party with your closest friends by playing sommelier for the night. Get a few bottles of your favourite wine, or have everyone bring a favourite of their own and be connoisseurs for the night. Have a tasting and compare, and vote on which one is the best. Pair it with a cheese board and some appetizers.
Decade theme party
Be it the roaring 20s, groovy 70s or retro 80s, a decade theme party is a fun way to ring out the old and bring in the new. Have everyone dress in clothes typical of the chosen decade to match the decor and music for the night. Don’t forget some fun props for memorable photos. You may even want to test everyone’s knowledge with some trivia.
