The Top Toronto Festivals to Attend This Summer

Summer is when you'll see the largest number of people out and about in Toronto, when tourists flock to the city and when food trucks come out in swarms. It's also festival time.
Here are the top Toronto festivals to attend this summer.
Beaches Jazz Festival
Canada's largest free jazz festival has been running since 1989, and today sees over one million attendees. The festival takes place in a number of locations in The Beaches, although most of the action happens at Woodbine Park. The festival occupies much of July and includes a block party, a Latin carnival and StreetFest, which takes place right in front of our 2102- 2106 Queen Street East community from July 25th to 28th. The festivities end with the Beaches Jazz Run, a 5K race along the lakefront Martin Goodman Trail.
Pride Toronto
This is one of the largest organized Pride festivals in the world, attracting roughly one million people from around the globe. The centre of the festival is situated in the Upper Village neighbourhood, right near our 89 Isabella Street apartments. This year, Pride runs from June 21st to 23rd, with celebrations culminating in the incredible Sunday Pride Parade. There is also a street fair and plenty of live music and dancing. Explore the festival and show your support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Taste of the Danforth
This is THE festival for tasting the best Greek food in the city. Dine on souvlaki, gyros, saganaki, spanakopita and loukoumades while breaking plates (literally) and dancing to traditional Greek music. Take a traditional dance lesson from instructors from China, the Philippines, Egypt, Japan or the Caribbean. Taste of the Danforth is a great festival for the whole family! The little ones can enjoy the Kids' Fun Zone, while visitors of all ages can check out the Sports Zone and Art on Sneakers competition. The fun starts on the eve of August 9th and finishes on August 11th.
Toronto Fringe Festival
Since 1989, theatres across downtown Toronto have been hosting this annual festival, which now spans 44 venues. Genres range from comedies to tragedies, including children-friendly shows for the whole family. This summer, the Fringe Festival runs from July 3rd to 14th. In between shows, check out Postscript, an outdoor patio located in Harry Gairey Rink at the corner of Bathurst and Dundas - just a short drive from our 940 Bloor Street West apartments. This massive, pop-up patio is complete with food vendors, art, a licensed bar and live music.
