Ways To Welcome In New Tenants

Finding the perfect tenant can be just as hard as finding the perfect place to live.
It’s great to start the relationship with your new tenants on the right foot, especially considering that the actual move will be more stressful for them than it is for you. Here are some ways to welcome in new tenants to your rental property.
Have the residence professionally cleaned
In most cases this is a given, but it’s also a nice thing to do. Having your tenants know that their new apartment will sparkle on moving day will not only take pressure off them, it will also help to ensure that if or when they move out, they will show the same courtesy. As well, it creates a good relationship with them from the start.
Leave a map of the area
Local maps are a great way to welcome new tenants to the neighbourhood. Highlight important points, like the nearest dog park if they have a dog, the nearest daycare centre if they have young children, the local gym, grocery stores and banks. You can even leave take-out menus for local restaurants and bars.
Have some essentials ready
Often when people move, they forget about small essentials like toilet paper, hand soap and paper towels. Having a few of the essentials on hand for new tenants when they move in is a great welcoming gesture. Put a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, along with hand soap and paper towels. Some natural disinfecting wipes are also a great idea.
Snacks and drinks
When people move, they are often too busy to stop for a bite to eat, a coffee or even a glass of water. Why not provide your new residents with some snacks and cold drinks to help them get through the day? This could be as simple as a few bottles of water in the fridge, some protein bars, nuts or even cold beer to finish off the long day.
